This winter weather won't go away!

Just when we get spoiled with lovely weather and can leave home without our sweaters Mother Nature steps in and brings us back to reality.

Musically speaking...

I always feel so fortunate to live within blocks of 5+ bars. Whenever there's live music it takes me mere minutes to walk and start shooting. This weekend I joined my friends for Gerald Pease's band as they rocked the house at Old Ironsides. It was the first time I've seen this band preform together and WOW! They were great! Very lively and upbeat, it was fun watching the crowd move to their music. I don't know if they'll be playing together anytime soon but I sure hope they do!

Capital Garage Celebrates it's 4th Year of Jamming

The musicians who play at Capital Garage celebrated their 4th year of weekly open jazz jam sessions. I was excited to take some shots and it was a lot of fun watching the original house band play with some of the newer musicians. Everyone sounded great and it was so much fun to photograph.

A few of my Favorite Things...

It rained a lot this week and I began to get stir crazy from lack of sun and lack of shooting photos. To keep myself happy I decided to start taking close up pictures of some of my own things.

New Orleans Brass Band - Mardis Gras 2011

I'm very lucky to live within a few blocks of a wonderful little bar that offers live jazz. I'm also very lucky to know most of the musicians performing there often. For this year's Mardi Gras Cole and I walked to the bar where he'd be playing beer bottle for a friend's brass band. The band was absolutely amazing, very energetic. They made me feel like I was in New Orleans, which is probably what they were going for...

Anyone hire a beer bottle player?
