Christmas Time

Shelby and Kaila and their dog, Phoebe wanted some cheesy Christmas portraits done. I immediately got excited and we all discussed how it'd be so fun to do ugly Christmas sweater pictures and some of our own takes on Awkward Family Photos. Of course when we all met up we decided some good ole fashioned, lovely Christmas pictures would be best and I'm really glad we did. They're such a lovely, fun couple and their dog is absolutely precious. 

New Pup

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I was lucky enough to meet this sweet little guy. I was even more lucky to have the breeder deliver him to my office and my luck continued when I was able to take him to work with me for the rest of the week. We decided to name him something fancy and fun knowing we'll call him 'Puppy' forever. Meet Mr. Rocco Garbagio, the newest member to our household.

The Great Northern Divers at Blue Lamp

Tonight was The Great Northern Divers' debut as a band. They played at Blue Lamp in Midtown Sac and it was fantastic! The whole show was based around singer-songwriters with 2 featured bands.

Brian Rogers, Cole Dutcher and Gerald Pease at Naked Lounge

In the years I've known Brian Rogers and watched him play on stage I've never seen him play bass and sing alone on stage. Ah-mazing. I've never seen someone jam so hard just a bass and sing with such intensity at the same time.

After Brian was done Cole and Gerald got on stage for an acoustic set. Like always it was fantastic. I never get tired of watching these guys preform.

Kitten Gets Fancy

I tried to get the kitten a bowtie for New Year's Eve earlier this year but wasn't able to find one in stock. This year I lucked out. I found one for $13 that was sold out. Thinking $13 was a bit too high for a cat bowtie I kept searching. I lucked out! www.BaxterBoo.com has a whole supply of dog hoodies, sweaters, collars, etc! I ordered the kitten a small sized (extra small was sold out) bowtie at 20% off and made it on time for their no shipping promotion with an additional 20%! After tax the kitten got himself a fancy $5.62 bowtie. I admit I may be a little on the crazy cat lady side but that's OK. He's so handsome in his fancy little outfit and he'll be perfectly dressed for the holidays.

Charity

Yep! I met with a friend of mine tonight to discuss doing some photography for either a charity or non profit. To be honest I thought it'd be easier... I thought I'd find an organization with my friend's help, let them know my ideas, they'd jump up and down and say "Yes! Take some photos!!" and then I'd set up, gather some people, take some pictures and hand the profits over to a charity. Nope. Not that simple.  There's the mission statement and vendors and locations and advertising! And that's just the beginning. And I need a name for my idea to boot! I'm determined to do some good though and I can't wait to get started! 

Jen and Jareb Get Hitched!

What a wonderful day this was! I felt so honored and excited to be part of this couple's beautiful wedding. Everyone was so nice and inviting, I actually left feeling like I was apart of their families. The wedding was gorgeous, the couple was amazing and the bridal party was hilarious. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Saturday. 

BUCHO and Soul Rebels Brass Band!

Oh my, what an amazing night! I was so, so fortunate to be the (only!!) photographer at this show at Harlow's in Sacramento! BUCHO is always amazing and has never disappointed but this was most of our first time seeing Soul Rebels. They came in from New Orleans and blew the crowd away with their energy and amazing New Orleans style. Since I photograph Element Brass Band frequently in Sacramento and their founder, Ryan played in New Orleans brass bands it was really, really fun to meet a true original band from New Orleans itself. It helped me further understand a lot of the hard work the musicians go through to play so energetically and confidently for hours on their feet and helped to see where some of the music originated.

Chalk it Up, Sacramento 2011

Jenny and Jared Engagement

I'm so excited to see these two walk down the aisle in September. Today was my first time meeting these two and what a pleasure! They were an absolute blast to work with and very comfortable in front of the camera. I can't wait to see them on their wedding day and spend the day with them. 

Kim and Mark get Engaged

How cute are these two? Kim and Mark are getting married in July at Kim's parent's house in the foothills and I can't wait! We'll be doing their engagement photos in a few different locations and seasons to capture the full essence of this couple. 

Wedding Bliss

It's official. I'm in my mid-20's and all my friends are getting married! This week I was honored to be the maid of honor for my good friend of 16 years. I was able to sneak in a few shots when her hired photographer wasn't around and I'm so glad I did! She looked absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't be happier for my oldest friend and her new husband.

While in Ohio a friend from middle and high school asked if I could take some engagement and family shots. Of course I jumped on the opportunity to see an old friend and her adorable little girl.
